Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced Trail Running Basics: Mt. Tam Lakes & Northside
San Francisco Bay Area
Start time: | Duration: 2 hrs
Running is running, but sometimes the uneven and changing terrain of the trail can add another dimension of difficulty.
Mt. Tamalpais’ Northside is a perfect proving ground to focus on some of the more basic skills needed to understand the specific form of trail running. During your time out, you’ll also be treated to a few of the beautiful lakes that make up the Mt. Tam Watershed Area.
Any running skill level will appreciate this outing. Bring your best confidence, and whatever current running gear you use. In addition to running bio-mechanics and mental strategies, we'll discuss your current gear, and nutrition. By the time we're done, you'll have a firm grasp on the direction you'd like to take your running, and an even greater confidence in the gear you'll need to get you there.

Marin County California offers up a booming goldmine of outdoor exploring. It’s been my fortune to grow up surrounded by our local crown jewels of Pt. Reyes Ridge, Mount Tamalpais, the Marin Headlands, and China Camp State Park. As a competitive runner, the extensive trail systems of these locations have provided me with the foundation to become a strong athlete of mind and body. It’s my desire to share the many years of my experience and trail knowledge with you!
No matter your running skill level, I’ll make sure we take the time to enjoy the views, soak in the moment, build your strength and understanding of running, while also taking in a little history of the surrounding region. At the end of the trail, we might even enjoy a tasty pint or two.
