About me:
My name is Matt Wilkinson. I'm the proud owner and main instructor for Pillar Point Surf School. I'm a dedicated surfer who has traveled the world in search of the perfect wave. I'm an extremely patient and passionate person who will provide you with the best experience possible. Now older and a bit more responsible with a family of my own, I dedicate my time to sharing the love of the coast and ocean with my clients. Now in my third year of business, I enjoy specializing in private lessons and small group lessons. This allows my clients to really learn the basics and progress quickly through the many rewarding challenges that surfing presents.
The following are the details of my service:
We provide professional surf lessons for Bay Area residents and vacationers from around the world. Our surf lessons are offered in the Half Moon Bay area and nearby areas upon request. We are currently offering surf lessons 7 days a week, for all ages and skill levels.
Surfing Lessons are 1.5 – 2 hours:
Surfing lessons include a brief safety, surf etiquette, and pop up drill prior to surfing. We provide the soft top surfboard! You need to provide your own wetsuit or rent your own from a surf shop. I recommend Cowboy Surf Shop, HMB board shop, or Mavericks. Upon request I can provide wetsuits for an additional fee.

Qualifications:
I have over 10 years of teaching experience in bay area elementary schools. I recently decided to expand my teaching from the classroom to the Pacific Ocean. Being a coastside resident for over 30 years I know how to customize your surfing experience to make it the most enjoyable. In addition I have 20 years of surfing experience that will help you stand up in no time.
