Matt Davis Trail to the West Point Inn

On this tour we experience many of Mt Tam’s microclimates as we scale along the southwestern side of Mt. Tam with the nearby Pacific Ocean as our constant companion.

Midway we stop to refresh at the West Point Inn with a delicious organic box lunch while soaking in some of the most fulfilling views Mt. Tam has to offer. We make our way back along the very same route traveled by the old Scenic Railroad during the turn of the 20th century.

What makes this hiking tour especially pleasant is it’s only ~ 5 miles long, a nicely varied landscape with vast views of the SF, Mt Tam, Marin County and the Pacific Ocean. You don’t have to be a marathoner to enjoy a truly spectacular experience.
